Three car projects and one motorcycle project
presently under construction
Just picked this up out of Connecticut. Haven't decided
if I want to leave it an old fashion gasser, or make it into
a finished street rod or just leave it fenderless for
the old hot rod look. Decisions, decisions ???
1951 Dodge Wayfarer

have roof stripped to metal ready to prime
Gary Gross - Street Rod Fabricator

building new car like this coupe for a trip
across Rt. 66 from Chicago to California
1932 Ford 3 Window Coupe

and to be finished late 2013

One of the future projects on our drawing board:

1951 Dodge Construction Photos

Well under way now. Only right front fender left to repair rust. Concentrating on customization now.
Just couldn't leave it stock. Shaving chrome off side, lowering car about 3 inches, moving rear
bumper forward 3 inches, totally reworked look of front of car and will have a 1953 Corvette
sharks too grille in it, cusomized tail lights and trunk opening handle too, rear bumper
loses its bumperettes and exposed bolts.
So far the stock drive train is staying. Flat head 6 engine with 3 speed fluid drive on the column shift.
Could have a Chrysler hemi or Big Block Chevy in it before it is over, who knows.
Shiny black paint job goes on after stripping all old paint to bare metal first.
This grille goes in front end !!!
Orignial front end with vertical bumperettes
and stock grille, metal letters and hood ornament.
All gone now........Hot Rod look to come......
Shaved bumper bolts & bumperettes from bumper.
Reshaped the grille opening in front fenders.
A 1953 Corvette 13 shark tooth grille goes in it!!!!
Welded up seem in center of hood to make it one peice.
Shaved hood of letters, emblem and ornament.
Lots of welding and lots of fun !!!
The Corvette grille came in today.
Have to redesign the hood latch so grille
can be centered and it will be done.
Front wheel well opening was 3" higher in front
compared to rear wheel opening. Lowering this
opening to match rear now.
See Dodge photo at top for reference
of original look.
Got the 3" added in to lower it. Now I have to pie cut fender opening in front and behind of lowered edition to reestablish the radius in the opening properly.
Front fender wheel opening all put back together
